Cherry Creek Investment Advisors, Inc., a private wealth management firm was Co-founded by Trish McNamara in 1994. She wanted to set out on her own so she could get to know her clients “her way,” provide independent advice, and manage her client’s money far away from the product pushing tactics of Wall Street.
She started out in the investment management business as an Assistant Portfolio Manager and worked her way up to a Portfolio Manager position for Mitchell Hutchins Asset Manager, a subsidiary of PaineWebber. There she learned a lot about how to invest money and was managing over $6 billion in various short-term fixed income and money market mutual funds by the time she left. Eventually, she decided New York wasn’t the place she wanted to live her life and the corporate world didn’t suit her independent streak so she relocated to Colorado.
Trish received her BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont. She then attended the University of Nice, France, where she was able to focus her studies on international economics and political systems. As financial markets have become more globally interrelated, her international studies have helped her better explain to clients what global political and economic repercussions have on the financial markets today. This can be very reassuring to clients in this “crazy” global world.

When it comes to investing, Trish manages her client’s portfolios with a simple sensible approach: invest in good companies with a good history and track record, remove the emotion of the markets, have some patience, and the returns usually will take care of themselves.
While building her business in Colorado, Trish has served on non-profit and government Board of Directors established to benefit the local community and the state. In addition, she has served on a national investment advisor’s council promoting better investment advisor practices.
Trish lives an equestrian way of life, down on the farm in Parker, CO. She has 3 lovely horses that she has brought along since they were young. "It gives me great joy to watch these amazing creatures develop into athletes and be such willing trusting partners."
